It is commonly known that each planning application can take up to eight weeks until they are decided. Unless they are unusually large or complex, in which case this can sometimes take a little longer at around 13 to 16 weeks if the application is subject to an environmental impact assessment. The local planning authority should give you a rough timescale of when the planning application will be determined. However, should you not hear back, you can then appeal within six months to the Planning Appeals Commission. Once the local planning authority has received the planning application, you will then receive a letter of acknowledgement. At the end of the process, a decision will be made advising whether planning permission has been granted or refused. To find out more information about planning permission or any general questions regarding this topic please do not hesitate to contact Ashleigh Clarke Architects who will provide you with all the information you need.
