We designed this beautiful part single and part two-storey extension to allow for a new family room on the ground floor and an additional bedroom on the first floor with a Juliette balcony which affords stunning views of the surrounding countryside and gardens. The timber larch cladding and timber-painted frames introduce a high-quality addition and aesthetically pleasing contrast with the remainder of the external walls where the mass of local Cotswold stone predominates. The soft tonal qualities of the timber larch cladding which will weather naturally silver, and the natural local stone help the design integrate into its surroundings whilst also providing a classic timeless appearance. Contemporary design features such as glazing and a flat roof ensure that our design is both sympathetic to its surroundings whilst also being aesthetically striking.
